MCAC Football Athletes of the Week: Week of October 20-26
The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its football athlete of the week awards for the week of October 20-26.
Armon Vinson, quarterback for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned an Offensive Player of the Week award. Vinson completed 13 of 24 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns in the BlueJays' win over M State. Vinson also had four rushes for 64 yards and a touchdown to help his team advance to the semifinals of the MCAC playoffs. Anthony Mitcheli, wide receiver for Central Lakes College, earned the other Offensive Player of the Week honor. Mitcheli had four receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 16.3 yards per catch and also had one rush for eight yards in the Raiders' win over MNC-Mesabi Range to advance to the semifinals of the MCAC playoffs.
Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range linebacker, Daniel Kokoska, was named the Defensive Player of the Week honoree. Kokoska had 18 tackles in his final game of the season. He also forced a fumble and had a fumble return of one yard. Kokoska leads the conference in tackles with 75.0 on the season, averaging 10.7 tackles per game.
Ryndon Olsen, kicker for North Dakota State College of Science, earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award. Olsen was eight for eight on extra points and one for one of field goals, a 37-yard score. He also had ten kickoffs for 619 yards with five touchbacks in the Wildcats' win over MNC-Vermilion to advance to the semifinals of the MCAC playoffs.
