MCAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week: Week of September 29 - October 5
The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its volleyball athlete of the week awards for the week of September 29 - October 5.
Brooklyn Fischer, outside hitter for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, earned the MCAC South Division Offensive Athlete of the Week award. Fischer hit .225 through her 12 sets on the court, totaling 48 kills, two assists, and three service aces. She also had 44 digs and nine blocks, helping the Cyclones pick up three wins this week. St. Cloud Technical and Community College middle blocker, Maddie Frieler, earned the MCAC South Division Defensive Athlete of the Week award. Frieler was a wall at the net, picking up one solo block and 12 block assists in 12 sets. She also added 21 digs, six service aces, and ten kills to her stellar stat line.
Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range setter, Talise Goodsky, earned the MCAC North Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honor. In 12 sets, Goodsky recorded 104 assists, an average of 8.67 assists per set. In addition, she had six service aces, six kills, and 40 digs in the team's three matches. Emily Burns, outside hitter for Minnesota North College-Vermilion, was named the MCAC North Division Defensive Athlete of the Week honoree. Burns dug 20 balls in her three sets, averaging an impressive 6.67 digs per set. She also had an assist and six kills in the Ironhawks' one match.
